Boy or girl? Almost half of U.S. fertility clinics that offer embryo screening say they allow couples to choose the sex of their child, the most extensive survey of the practice suggests.
Sex selection without any medical reason to warrant it was performed in about 9 percent of all embryo screenings last year, the survey found.
Hmm, I wonder, how many parents who already have an autistic child would do this. I wonder how many geniuses we’ll be weeding out and where the world would be if we could do this and somehow never had our Einstein’s or Sir Isaac Newton’s or Van Goghs or Alexander Grahm Bells, or Henry Fords… or even our Steven Spielberg’s and Bill Gates’ for that matter. It’s somehow like destroying the big grey monolith in 2001 isn’t it?
